In 1973 the Rehab Act of 1973 was passed. There was a section in that act that was very important to the disabled community. The powers that be were trying to water down the section and some very brave and committed people in the disability community were determined not to let that happen. Some extraordinary events happened, it past and lead the way to the American's with Disabilities Act a few years later. Today we pay tribute. More details at walkandrolllive.com

This is a young man I met through PossAbilities at Loma Linda. He was on the Rolling Bears wheelchair basketball team. Like most of the guys and gals I meet through PossAbilities it never crosses my mind to ask how they became disabled. I'm more interested in what kind of person they are and are they someone I'd like to be friends with. Eric's a good guy who I played wheelchair rugby with and he seemed like a good guy. He was a family man with a couple kids so I related to him on that level. What did come out is that he's strong and faced his new life head on. This episode of Walk and Roll Live gives us both the opportunity to get to know him better and it turns he's everything I thought and more. Let's get to know Eric.

We wanted to learn about the role of a Special Ed teacher at the high school level. We got that and so much more in this conversation with Teri Black, Special Ed teacher at Adelanto HS. Currently she teaches math, but we quickly learned there were more lessons to be learned for the student as well as the teacher. And for sure, we can learn from both of them. We hope you enjoy this episode of Walk and Roll Live. Please like, subscribe and share.
